Petstock stores welcome thousands of customers and their pets every week, offering a broad range of products and services, including pet grooming, veterinary care, dog washing, and puppy school programs. With high foot traffic, constant pet activity, and daily stock movement, maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment across stores ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 sqm is critical. Floors, grooming stations, play areas, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces all require consistent, meticulous attention to prevent the spread of germs, protect animal and customer safety, and deliver a consistently positive shopping experience.
Cipher’s Rapid Response Team partnered with Petstock to develop a tailored cleaning and restoration program for each store, ensuring that every location’s unique requirements were met. Our team provided comprehensive floor restoration, including floor scrubbing and polishing, along with high-quality cleaning of high-traffic areas, grooming stations, and other critical surfaces. Challenges
Maintaining cleanliness across Petstock stores presented several unique challenges due to the high-traffic and dynamic nature of the retail pet environment. Each store features varied flooring types, including tiled and concrete surfaces, which require different cleaning techniques, specialised equipment, and processes to ensure consistently high-quality results.
In addition, the stores faced significant wear and dirt build-up caused by constant trolley traffic, daily customer and pet activity, and occasional pet accidents. This resulted in scuff marks, stubborn stains, and dull surfaces, which not only compromised hygiene standards but also affected the overall presentation and professional appearance of the stores.
The project spanned 15 locations, demanding meticulous planning, coordination, and communication with multiple store managers to ensure that all stores were cleaned efficiently and to a high standard. Furthermore, all work needed to be performed with minimal disruption to customers, either before store opening or immediately after closing, so that daily operations could continue smoothly while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for shoppers and their pets.

Our Tailored Solution
Cipher’s Rapid Response Team implemented a comprehensive, tailored cleaning and restoration program across all Petstock stores, addressing the unique requirements of each location. For concrete floors, we performed deep scrubbing using industrial-grade equipment to remove embedded dirt, grime, and scuff marks, restoring them to a clean, safe, and visually appealing condition.
At select locations, such as Hawthorn East, tiled floors received strip-and-seal treatments, while in some stores, we conducted floor stripping, polishing, and buffing as required to rejuvenate worn or dull surfaces and maintain a professional, polished appearance. All work was carried out using pet-safe, eco-friendly cleaning products, ensuring hygiene standards without compromising safety. Cleaning schedules were carefully coordinated with store managers, with tasks performed either before store opening or after closing hours to ensure minimal disruption to customers. To meet the tight project timeline, we deployed multiple crews and managed equipment logistics efficiently, delivering a high-quality, consistent cleaning and restoration service across all stores.
