Aramex Warehouse
Aramex, one of the world's leading logistics and transportation providers, was undertaking a major warehouse automation upgrade at its Sydney distribution centre as part of its commitment to improving operational efficiency, productivity, and customer service. The 20,000 sqm facility plays a critical role in the movement and distribution of freight across New South Wales, processing thousands of parcels and shipments through the site each day.
As part of the automation project, large sections of the warehouse required thorough cleaning and surface preparation before new automated systems, equipment, and infrastructure could be installed. Years of continuous operations had resulted in significant build-up of tyre marks, grease, dirt, dust, and operational residue across warehouse floors, loading docks, driveways, and high-traffic areas. Given the scale of the facility and the strict project deadlines, Aramex engaged Cipher Rapid Response to deliver a comprehensive warehouse cleaning and industrial pressure cleaning program. The works needed to be completed in close coordination with the Aramex project team, automation contractors, and site management, ensuring each area was cleaned, prepared, and handed over progressively as the upgrade works advanced.
With only three days available to complete the project, Cipher Rapid Response deployed multiple specialist cleaning teams operating around the clock to support the successful delivery of this critical warehouse transformation project.

Challenges
Unlike a traditional warehouse cleaning project, this assignment was completed within a live project environment where the entire facility was being progressively transformed through automation. Different sections of the warehouse were released at various stages, requiring our team to work closely with the Aramex project team to ensure each area was cleaned and handed back on schedule for the next phase of works.
Years of operational activity had left warehouse floors affected by tyre marks, grease, dirt build-up, oil contamination, and operational residue from constant forklift and vehicle movements. In addition, existing floor markings and accumulated debris needed to be removed to provide clean, safe surfaces ready for automation infrastructure and equipment installation.

Our Tailored Solution
Cipher Rapid Response developed a staged cleaning and surface preparation program that aligned directly with the warehouse automation schedule. Working in partnership with the Aramex project team, we coordinated cleaning activities around contractor access requirements, ensuring only designated sections were cleaned at any one time before being handed over for the next stage of the upgrade.
To achieve the required timeframe, multiple specialist cleaning teams were deployed across the facility on a continuous 24-hour roster over three consecutive days. Using industrial-grade pressure cleaning equipment, hot water pressure washing systems, ride-on cleaning equipment, and specialised degreasing solutions, our teams worked around the clock to remove tyre marks, grease, grime, operational residue, and construction-related debris from warehouse floors, loading docks, driveways, and external hard surfaces.
This coordinated approach allowed the automation project to continue progressing without delays while ensuring every section of the facility was cleaned to a high standard before handover.
